Strategy formulation towards maximising business profits with minimum risk and costs in China

In May 2011, ConnectAsia has organized a series of conference on “Strategies in reducing costs and risks in cooperation with Chinese partners” took place in Wroclaw (17 May), Katowice (19 May), Poznan (May 26) and Gdansk (30 May). The conference itself was characterized by the sharing of knowledge and optimism, wich were so evident throughout the event. Over 200 attendees from 145 firms took part, making this one of the biggest Chinese conferences ever held in Poland. The conference opened by representatives of Lower Silesian Chamber of Commerce, Katowice Chamber of Commerce, Polish-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Polish Import-export Chamber of Commerce in each respective city. The conference proved a resounding success, largely due to an invaluable contribution of a comprehensive list of leading industry experts from ConnectAsia, Raiffeisen Bank and BigChina, Real Logistics.

2011. Over 200 participants took part in the trainings conduced by our trainers, Darren Chong and Atiq Naik. The aim of the training is to provide most practical knowledge on Indian business culture and communication. A simultaneous interpretation (English-Polish) took place to enhance the understanding of the participants.

ConnectAsia Czech Republic organized a training for participants who are currently dealing with Asian business counterparts in Ostrava region. The 2-day training was conducted by Darren Chong. All participants were given opportunity to experience a Japanese theatre, dinner with the Mayor from Cieszyn and Cesky Tesin, and ended up with a Czech-Polish tea festival in Cieszyn.

90 buyers from renowned clothing brands joined the 13 days training in Krakow and Gdanks. A soft skill training which was designed for experienced and non-experienced buyers with case study, group and individual assignments. Attendees learnt how to produce a good Purchase Order (PO), Chinese email and phone etiquettes and also how to negotiate with the Chinese with PASS strategy.

We took part in a workshop called Transfer and full development of the formal and non formal training assessment tool which took place recently in Athens Greece. The objective of the workshop is to gather the experts from Europe to come out with the best training methodology within the new trend and needs of business in Europe. Besides trainer from ConnectAsia, other speakers are from Greece, Czech Republic, Spain and Austria.

The Chinese language teachers from ConnectAsia were sponsored by China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Hanban) to attend a week Chinese Teaching Certification Training in Tianjin, China. The certification enhances the qualification of the teachers in providing quality Chinese language courses in Poland.
